In 1972, the Penn Foster school began a high school program. When a student completes the program here, he or she is awarded with a diploma certificate. The high school program was approved by PA State Board of Private Licensed Schools.

In 1974, the Center for Degree Program was created. It offers collage level courses, which lead to an Associate in Specialized Technology and Associate in Specialized Business Degree. 

The Penn Foster career school is licensed by Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools. In addition, it is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council of Washington DC.
